About

Dr. Kong's research focuses on physical activity epidemiology, wearable technologies, digital health, and healthy aging. He is particularly interested in using wearable-device data and advanced analytical methods, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, to better understand daily movement behaviors and develop scalable interventions that support healthy aging. His long-term goal is to develop and evaluate accessible, personalized digital health interventions that improve health, well-being, and independence among middle-aged and older adults. When asked why he is interested in being involved with the Roybal Center: I am interested in being involved with the Roybal Center because its emphasis on translating behavioral and social science research into practical interventions closely aligns with my research interests and long-term career goals. This involvement would provide valuable opportunities to collaborate with multidisciplinary researchers, strengthen my skills in developing and evaluating behavioral interventions, and contribute my expertise in physical activity, wearable technologies, and digital health. I am especially excited to explore how emerging technologies and AI can be thoughtfully integrated into interventions to promote healthy aging and enhance quality of life among middle-aged and older adults.
